 The Bucket Foundation was set up in memory of a very special wire haired fox terrier, Bucket. Bucket was a beloved family pet with a cheerful personality and uncommon intelligence. As an example of Bucket's superior canine reasoning, she soon discovered the following natural law during her evening walks: "For each and every culvert, there is an equal and opposite culvert on the other side of the street." Her engineer parents thereafter referred to this amazing discovery as Bucket's Law.
When Bucket was 4 years old, she was diagnosed with a serious Autoimmune disorder similar to lupus. For the next 8 years she battled the disease as it slowly ravaged her kidneys.  Throughout her long illness, Bucket's owners spent numerous days in various animal hospitals where they happened to obeserve many unfortunate and pitiful animals whose owners could not or would not pay for the care they needed. It was then that the idea for the Bucket Foundation was born. | |
